Treat yourself to a sumptuous breakfast under ancient milkwood trees next to the Wilderness lagoon at sister outfit Moontide Guest Lodge (R70 per person; walking distance or a 2 min drive – call for directions). Or head to Beejuice Café,  a one minute stroll from your front door. The Café offers a casual lunchtime tapas menu, situated in the old Wilderness railway station.

For fine dining we recommend Serendipity, voted amongst top 100 restaurants in the country by Wine Magazine for 6 consecutive years as well as amongst the top 10 in the Garden Route.

The Girls Bistro is also one of the top 10 Restaurants in the Garden Route. Informal and unpretentious, their food is delicious and good value. This too is within walking distance.

Best steak house on the Garden Route, Joplins Pub & Steak Grill is highly popular with locals – a laid back timber shack-pub, where you can still wine and dine for around R120 per head.

Salinas offers casual fare, served up with a 180 degree view of the ocean and beaches.

For pastas and pizza try Pomodoro in the heart of the village, good value and good fare; laid-back vibe.
